Meet Eric
Eric Bedingfield has a strong record of public service. From 1985 until 1993, he served our country in the United States Marine Corp Reserve before returning home to southern Greenville County.
Later as a local businessman, Eric began his elected service in 2002 on representing District 28 on Greenville County Council.
During that time, Eric worked to improve county government’s service to the district’s homes and families – consistently remaining committed to the conservative values and pro-growth policies that make Greenville such a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.
On county council, with his record of positive leadership, Eric worked closely with his council colleagues allowing him to:
- Maintain the county’s AAA credit rating while dramatically improving our business recruiting efforts.
- Successfully fight the battle to hold the line on taxes at the county level. The lack of tax increases has made Greenville a prime destination for new business development.
- Dramatically improve our business recruiting efforts. This has created many new, good-paying jobs for our citizens and a promising future for our children.
As a council member, Eric Bedingfield served as chairman of the Public Service, Planning and Development Committee.
Now Eric continues serving southern Greenville County as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives where he was elected in 2006.
Over the past two years Eric Bedingfield used the same dedication and conservative values he held at County Square to the Statehouse in Columbia.
Aside from supporting the state’s sweeping immigration reform measures and voting against increases in legislative pension increases during tough economic times, Eric Bedingfield supported cuts in the state budget, strong tax reform measures, and educational reforms providing parents with more decision-making ability for their children’s educations.
He hopes to carry that service back to Columbia for another term and hopes that you will continue to be a part of the team.
A life-long resident of Greenville County, Eric and his wife, Sabrina, have four children.
